Gandr (Gundo) are tools that a wizard used for casting a spell. They are created to simplify rituals and incantations for the casting of spells. Gandrs do not need to look like wands as long as it can it could serve its intended role. Because of the size and the complexity of operating they were not things made easily to be carried or used while moving. It has a connector that attaches to the neck of the wizard where a crest is located that links the consciousness of of the wizard to it.

Mechanical carriages are in essence gandr that are specified for transportation on land.
